Suggest Treatment For Cough, Hoarse Voice And Sore Throat
Question: Dr found nodules on thyroid to small to biopsy have cough hoarseness sore throat shouldn't I be referee to endocrnologist
Brief Answer:
Thyroid
Detailed Answer:
Generally, when nodules in the thyroid are less than 1 cm, and the individual lacks other risk factors for thyroid cancer such as
1 Past history of thyroid cancer
2 Family history of thyroid cancer
3 Radiation exposure to the upper body/head/neck area
then such nodules are only monitored with ultrasound over time.
So the advice of your doctor seems reasonable if this is the case.
However there are other considerations too such as findings on physical examination, further characteristics on ultrasound, blood TSH value etc
So it is important to get thoroughly evaluated in person by a doctor to determine the best plan of management for your thyroid nodules
