Suggest Treatment For Cough, Yellow-green Mucus And Chest Cold

Question: I am coughing yellow,green mucus it just roll out of my mouth. Is it my allergy,lungs,chest cold, just want to dry it up. XXXXXXX

Hi,

Yellowish green mucus is suggestive of lung related cause (infection) more.
So you will mostly need antibiotic to cure infection and hence dry up secretions.
Mucinex is also good drug. It will cough out secretions.

Hi,

Since you are not having fever, chest pain and you are nonsmoker, possibility of severe pneumonia is very very less.
Broad spectrum antibiotic like azithromycin should be started in your case.
Since it is prescribed drug, you should definitely consult doctor for its prescription.
Usually it is given as 500mg once a day at morning for 3-5 days.
