Suggest Treatment For Crack In Upper Part Of Femur Bone

Question: Hello Doctor,
In continuation to the problem we had raised, my surgeon checked bone scan report, He is of opinion that the issue could be because of crack in upper part of femur bone. As there is hotspot in bone scan near to that area, he is strongly feel it could be because of crack. Also, today my wife leg got slipped two times without her knowledge, though she didnt have any pain during first few hours of the day even when she was working.
My surgeon suggested to have bed rest for 4-6 weeks to see whether crack can be cured itself. What is your opinion?

Brief Answer:
She might be having stress fracture
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and I think that your wife must be having stress fracture of the femur. At present it will be best for her to take calcium and vitamin D. She should also wear knee brace and do bed rest.
I hope these steps will heal her fracture. If her pain remains then she might need a repeat surgery with longer implant.
If possible please send me your scan report. I can offer you better information after that.
I hope this answer will be useful for you. Let me know if there is any other follow up questions.
thanks

Brief Answer:
She needs revision of knee replacement
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and reports. Your wife's femoral component is getting loose and that is why she is having pain in the knee joint. I would recommend you to meet a knee replacement surgeon and get her examined. If there is loosening as suggested by bone scan report then she might need revision of knee replacement.
I do not think in that case bed rest is going to help her.
thanks
