Detailed Answer:
Provisional Diagnosis-Abdominal Cramps with Colitis ?with Old Diverticulitis
Hi,Dear thanks for the query to HCM and to ME.
After study of the query I understood your health concerns of cramps and colicks with lower abdominal pain and fever.
The cramps and waves of sharp pain felt by you since yesterday indicate digestive disturbance related with your diet, which you took yesterday,as you don't have any complaints before that.
The spastic/shooting pain with fever in lower abdomen, indicate infective colitis, which you got after whatever you took yesterday.
Did you have any outside food yesterday?
Though your old diverticulitis is without any complaints since long, the recent food change lead to colitis with all this spastic pain and fever.
I would advise you to consult your Family doctor, and under his guidance take the following treatment-
Take liquid bland diet for x 2 days time till the cramps and pains are reduced.
Avoid spicy diet / and leafy vegetables x for 5 days time.
Take Tab anti-spasmodic/ and antibiotic with metronidazole x 5 days time,to control the incidental infection causing colitis, which lead to the lower abdomen cramps.
Antipyretic drugs(like Tylenol) only when required( SOS )and rest for x 2-3 days time would relieve you from this health issue
The pains which you feel to be coming from your uterus/cervix may need to be ruled out by USG study and by consultation with your Gynec doctor.Mostly these pains are due to the sigmoid colitis which you have and don't appear to be from uterus/cervix,as there is no related vaginal discharge.
Hope this would help you to plan treatment with your doctor on your immediate visit,Which I would suggest you.
