Brief Answer:
Please find foods to eat and avoid below

Detailed Answer:
Hi Solonierciting,
Thanks for writing in to us.

Sorry to hear that you are having amoebic dysentery. Metronidazole should work to eliminate the infection and buscopan heals the cramps. Food taken during amobic dysentery plays a part in recovery.

You should be eating foods low in fiber like bananas, white rice, applesauce and toast (not whole grain), and perhaps herbal tea and yogurt (if you are not lactose intolerant), refined breads, crackers, refined pasta, fruit juices, melon, peaches, apricots, vegetable juices, skinless potatoes, tender meat, fish and eggs.

Please avoid taking foods containing high fiber like whole grains, beans, raw vegetables and meats. Avoiding foods such as broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, dried peas, lentils, onions, chives, peppers and carbonated beverages will prevent bowel gas formation.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts,

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
