Suggest Treatment For Cramps While On Sprintec Birth Control Pills
Question: I've been on sprintec birth control for a few years now.. I recently had my withdrawal bleed, and am about halfway through my new pack. I'm experiencing slight cramping. I'm not sure if this is from my protein-heavy diet, or because I took a pill 12 hours late 5 days into my new pack and had unprotected sex. My boyfriend pulled out, but I'm nervous about a few "swimmers", if you will. On my last pack, I missed the last pill, but took a plan-B due to the same type of incident, and my boyfriend being paranoid.
Could I possibly be ovulating? My discharge is not a consistency of clear stretchy, or egg white-like. Could my discharge just be that of the mucus produced by the pill?

Brief Answer:
Pregnancy not likely.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
Taking a single pill 12 hours late does not affect the efficacy of the birth control pill. You are right now protected against pregnancy. The mild pain in the abdomen can be related to the change in the diet.
The discharge can change while you are taking pill. So this is not indicative of ovulation.
