Suggest Treatment For Cut On The Fingernail After Injury

Question: My husband was cutting wood and the wood kicked back and jammed his little fingernail. The nail is split across and the nail is pushed back. It is still bleeding but not heavy like it was. Slight swelling

do I need to take him in for X-rays ? Could use an answer please
