Brief Answer:
Pathophysiology explained.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. In each of the menstrual cycles an ovum is produced and after it comes out a follicle or cyst remains. These cysts regress subsequently but sometime they do not. This is when an ovarian cyst is formed.

In case you ever get pregnant, the follicle gets converted into corpus luteum which secretes progesterone in response to HCG trigger. Progesterone is a pregnancy supporting hormone and unless the HCG level keeps rising steadily the pregnancy would not be sustainable. So, even if I assume that you are pregnant, if your HCG level does not keep doubling about every 2 days for the first four weeks, you are not likely to remain pregnant.

I am not going into the discussion whether you are bleeding due to ovarian cyst or an already terminated pregnancy but an ultrasound could provide valuable clues. In such a case you are likely to require some hormonal support and visiting a gynecologist would help.
