Question: My husband can not ejaculate, even though he says that it is there. We have been trying for 4 days and nothing. he says he can feel it, but nothing happens. It should be noted that he is an alcoholic and I told him that I thought that could be the reason. Could you give us some reasons why this happens.

Brief Answer:
He needs a urologist review and may need testicular biopsy

Detailed Answer:
Hi ! Welcome to health care magic! Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible.

First of all, it is sad to know what your husband had been experiencing lately. Based on the history you have shared, it is very uncommon because mostly defective spermatogenesis may lead to abnormal sperms count or immobile sperms but having absolutely no discharge is atypical. You are right in the aspect that obstructive causes should be ruled out, though prostate causing obstruction of sperms flow with no urinary symptoms is also less likely hover an ultrasound of urinary bladder, prostate, urthera and testes should be undertaken to rule out any mechanical causes.

Also may need to have detailed examination of testes and external genitalia and hormone levels. If these are abnormal a testicular biopsy may even be needed and PSA levels can also be looked into. Meanwhile he should start taking supplements for calcium, vitamin D3, zinc and B complex for aid in the process. Also get a urologist review to assess any nerve damage or local cause of absent discharge.

Wishing him a quick recovery. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Regards.
