Question: I have been taking venlafaxine (3 75mg in a.m.) and finally depression was taking over anyway. Have tried to cut to 2 1/2 capsules am having so much trouble with depression and anxiety. Are there proven ways that have a good degree of success? Was on paroxatine before and made the switch. I think I need to get off it altogether. Comment? Thank you.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and thanks for your question.

You are currently taking venlafaxine 75mg x3 every day. This is a perfectly good strategy. If you have been taking this dose for 4 or more weeks, then you should increase the dose to 4 tablets every day. Do NOT go down on the medicine like you have been doing -- this will only hurt you and will not help.
