                                            Question : I am XXXXX professor of biochemistry. diabetic and HTN 32 years. yesterday I checked urinary alb/creat ration it is 65. wethere it is reversible or not.line of treatment

                                    dear sir, details required by you is as under:
1. diabetes 32 years 2.HTN almost same 32 years 3.my sister has diabetes.
4. no but during journey period I will get dependent edema.
5. no visual problem retinal scanning normal checked 2 months back.
FBS 127, urea 27 creatinine 1.1, HbA1c 7.1, cholesterol 165 Hdl 44, ldl 85,
urine protein 1+ albumin creatine ratio 65 checked 2 days back normally it should be less than 30 also taking 1500ug methylcobalamine.

It seems you have developed diabetic/hypertensive nephropathy.
In such situations an important investigation is Ultrasound of Kidney and Urinary Bladder.
Discuss with your doctor about starting you on ACE inhibitors like Ramipril.
Also you have to take low protein diet.
As far as your query is concerned I must say its not perfectly reversible but can be controlled.
Get an Ultrasound done first of all and get back to me.
