Suggest Treatment For Diarrhea And Flatulence

Just a heads up but I've been having anxiety issues / hypochondria my whole life so that might affect me somehow..
However i do know that since the last weekend or so I've felt mildly feverish / fluish / tired and along that I've had stomach problems like diarrhea in the morning, felt gassy all the time and even a bit sore upper abdomen. However, i haven't had refluxes, haven't felt like throwing up (in fact, at times I've had a bigger appetite than usual).
I went to my local doctor last Tuesday-Wednesday and she asked me a series of questions and pressed all around my tummy. No aches but just a bit gassy. They did a blood test but no infections or so - everything was normal and they said there was no need for further examinations. They suspected a stomach bug, something like Adenoviruses.
My stomach problems and cold gradually started to subside since yesterday but i started to feel like i had a stretched muscle in the upper right abdomen near my navel. I started worrying whether i've got an appendictis or something else causing all of my previous symptoms despite not feeling anything odd earlier. It doesn't really hurt when pressing or releasing it or moving around. I kept checking all day and when i went to bed and tried to sleep that area actually felt pretty uncomfortable.
However, today i woke up with a normal stomach, experiencing even less of the symptoms i've meantioned before... but i'm still worrying what was going on yesterday or if there's something weird going on causing all of this.. any ideas?
Thanks!
Dyspepsia - further evaluation and/or trial of antacid/antifoaming agent
Detailed Answer:
Hi .
thank you for posting query at HCM.
your recent (yesterday) history points towards dyspepsia which means feeling uncomfortable in the epigastric region (upper abdomen) that might or might not be related to eating habits.
you may either test for H.pylori - Urea Breath Test (UBT)
OR
take Gaviscon suspension and/or simethicone chewable tablets(for combating gas) for a week or so; after discussing with your treating physician
OR
do diet modification for a week( no junk food, no beverages, no beef, ingest more fruits and vegetables, eat your evening meal 2 to 3 hrs before going to bed, decrease salt intake)
appendicitis in your case is very unlikely. classical Common presentation of appendicitis is :
1. dull pain in the umbilical region followed by migration of pain to right lower quadrant in abdomen (the pain is persistent)
2. loss of appetite
3, nausea/vomiting
