Question: I have a one week old with diarrhoea since he came home but he eats every 3hrs for an hour or longer.

Thanks for the query

Frequent stools 10-12 times a day and particularly after each feed is common in this age.Many babies pass stools while being fed or immediately after the feed due to exaggerated gastrocolic reflex,which may continue for couple of weeks.
During initial 1-2 days baby passes dark colored stool(meconium).Then gradually the consistency and frequency changes.At one week of age baby passes transitional stool.These are often semiloose and greenish-yellow.Frequency is increased which settles spontaneously within next 2-3 days.
So I wont get worried if baby is active/playful,feeding well and passing urine at least 5-6 times a day.
