Suggest Treatment For Difficulty In Swallowing Food
Question: Have difficulty swallowing food and have to chase down my food with water. This is all the time.
Brief Answer:
Needs evaluation
Detailed Answer:
Please check with your doctor at the earliest.
It could be just neurological wherein age related motility problem of the food pipe could be the cause.
On the other hand it could be due to physical blockage by tumor etc.
I understand that you have had evaluation with probably a barium swallow but I suppose you still may require endoscopy for evaluation. Please check with your doctor.

I want to see a specialist in this field, would that be a Otolaryngologist? Would that physician be the best in this field? Thanks XXXXXXX
Brief Answer:
Gastroenterologist
Detailed Answer:
A Gastroenterologist would be better. He would be able to do an endoscopy to see the area.
There is a small possibility that an Otorhinolaryngologist may be useful. But I suggest you see a gastroenterologist first.
