To rule our infection and obstruction
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for your query.
I'm Dr. Shuba Hariprasad and will be answering your query today.
Based on your query I would like to rule any obstructive lesions and infection
Would you clarify a few things for me please?
*how long have you had the difficulty in swallowing?
* any pain or burning sensation in the chest or throat after swallowing? Any fever?
* any weight loss recently? Any abdominal distinction?
*do you have any other medical issues or take. Any medications?
* have you had any surgeries in the past?
* how is your bowel habits? Is the stool normal?
* do you have difficulty swallowing liquids? Or any particular foods?
I recommend :
- a physician consult
-an otorhinolaryngologist and gastroenterologist Consult
-an electrocardiogram and echocardiogram (if indicated)
-an endoscopy and laryngoscopy.
-blood tests (complete blood count, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, kidney and liver function tests)
-an ultrasound or CT scan abdomen may be required if any other organ involvement is suspected.
Based on the clinical findings and test results, a treatment plan will be initiated.
- try to have a liquid or semisolid diet for a few days to see if you feel better.
-avoid caffeine, sugary or carbonated drinks and spicy oily foods.
-drink plenty of water.
If your abdomen becomes too bloated or you have any pain, continuous vomiting (with or without blood) or blood in stools, please visit the ER right away.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
Regards,
Dr. Shuba Hariprasad
