Suggest Treatment For Discolored Skin On The Lower Thigh Post An Injury
Question: Two weeks ago, I had pulled a muscle from running. That injury appears to have gone away, but now I have a large red/discolored patch on my lower thigh. This is on the same leg that had the muscle pull. I did take a walk a few days ago. Could this patch be a result of walking or the pull muscle injury or both? What can I do to get rid of this discoloration. There is some mild pain in this discolored area too
Brief Answer:
You are having echymosis
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case. I think your muscle pull also caused damage to blood vessels leading to accumulation of blood in tissue. It is causing discolouration of back of thigh. You do not need to worry about this,as this will improve with time.
You need to follow these steps.
1.avoid strenuous exercises or standing for long time.
2.hot water fomentation.
3.this blood will take at least three weeks in complete healing. I hope you are not taking any blood thinner.
I believe these steps will be helpful for you.Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
Thanks
