Brief Answer:
No. it is not the same episode

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking Healthcaremagic.

I am Dr.Endri Katro and I will be answering at your questions.
I have gone through your medical reports and my answer is as follows:
This episode of diverticulitis is not the same that you had 5 weeks ago. Antibiotics works from 5 to 7 or in your case even 9 days. Taking antibiotics for more time than needed will cause the opposide effect and it might harm your kidneys, liver (depending from the type of antibiotics). Other type of bacteria will colonise our large intestine (colon) and we might experience pain, diarrhea, fever ect.
The first treatment that you took 5 weeks ago for 9 days worked as it was suposed to and this episodd is a new one. Our feces (processed food) blocks the diverticula and than inflamation accurs and infection in a second time. You need to take the antibiotics that doctors prescribet at you, without changing the dose or the amount.

Meanwhile here are some advices to help your intestine with the consition that you have:
-have plenty of water
-fibers in your diet
-avoid beens or other type of food that produces gas
-avoid fat,spicy food,fries
-try to have a walk or a run each day

If you have any other question, don't hesitate to contact me.

Wish you good health.
