Brief Answer:
needs ent consultation -detailed ent examination

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

I see similar cases amongst young people who visit my clinic, I would like to ask you few more details.

Do you have any other symptoms associated with giddiness likes ear pain, ear discharge or ringing sound in ear ?

Here I am giving possibilities of dizziness.

The First possibility is could be due to hypotension (low bp) secondary to variation in thyroid hormone levels or anemia.

The Second possibility is electrolyte disturbance and dizziness could be due to electrolyte (sodium, potassium and calcium).

The third possibility is (ear pressure with head-ache) sinusitis causing acute otitis media. Inner ear related -BPPV, vestibular neuronitis or Menieres disease.

The fourth possibility is cervical spondylitis (unusual neck movements ).

I suggest you to to consult ent surgeon and get detailed ent examination, bp monitoring, x ray- cervical spine, blood tests-hemoglobin percentage, serum electrolytes, blood sugar, thyroid profile, hearing tests (audiometry).

I advise you to continue gastric reflux medications, till you evaluate the cause of dizziness.

Hope this answers your question, if you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.

No, no other symptoms no ear ache discharge , no headaches , bp checked several times and very slightly high - or normal readings, bloods don't show anaemia or diabetic, ECG also normal result. Slight weight gain & thought possible pregnancy but negative result. Friend suggested sea sickness tablets ?? It's really bothersome and effecting my life considerably :-(

Hi,

Thanks for giving feedback and test reports. anyway, there are procedures, where ent surgeon can elicit inner ear related giddiness to rule out BPPV, vestibular neuritis or menier's disease.go ahead for those manoveres.
