Suggest Treatment For Dizzy Spells While Getting Treated For Urinary Infection And Dementia
Question: My wife who has beginning dementia has has a urinary infection. She is being treated with an antibiotic. This morning she got up so dizzy she could not sit up or stand up. I do have a medicine that I use when I get dizzy spells. It is called Meclizine 25 MG. I could give her a tablet. Do you have any advice?
Brief Answer:
No
Detailed Answer:
Dear sir, I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns but meclizine is used mainly to treat dizziness due to motion sickness and in her case it might lead to additive drowsiness or tiredness.. I would recommend that you check on her blood pressure and blood glucose levels before giving her any medications.. also this could be a side effect of the antibiotic if she has not been eating much or has not been hydrating adequately.. I hope I answered your question..
