Suggest Treatment For Dry And Dull Skin
Here is my routine - In the morning, I cleanse my face with A-Derma clenser and then use Strea C10, moisturizer and then foundation. I the night I cleanse my face with A-Derma and then do not apply any thing. Recently read couple of review on Strea Nano white and ordered it online. I used it in the night and found that my skin in the morning was very dry and my pores were open on my cheeks. I also developed rashes. Not sure if Nano white serum is for a particular skin condition and not for all. I do not have much of wrinkles except for dry and dull looking skin.
Please suggest if I can continue using Nano white or is there a better alternative routine for a radiant moisturized skin
Kindly elaborate certain important points.

I'm a marketing professsional, 36 yrs old, unmarried and live in XXXXXXX I have a good mix of outdoor and office work as well. I use computer all the time. I do not get directly exposed to sun but I do drive around during the day and the only exposure to sun is when I'm in the car. My car does not have any sun protection.
I started experiencing dry and dull looking skin for the past two years and I did try very many brands to get that hydrated supple look back on my face. I have dryness more prominently on the forehead, worried that I would start seeing wrinkles very soon. When I feel my skin it feel quite dehydrated and dry. I also have pigmentation around my mouth, not very dark but still noticeable. I don't feel itching or anything but I can feel the stretch marks on my forehead when I grin.
I do consult dermat's when I feel I need some help but nothing has help relieve my skin of dryness and dullness on the face. I experience the same with my body. I have very dry skin. Please suggest a good cream for my body as well that does not dry my skin and does not turn it dark and scaly
I have been using Elocon cream sparingly for about a year, whenever I have rashes on my skin. I have very sensitive skin so having allergic reactions is very common.
Recently I visited a dermat as I had very bad rashes on my face, neck and arms. I have used Dr. Reddy's sunscreen Shadowz50 on my face and arms and I guess that had caused allergic reactions. My dermat advised me to use Elocon for just 5 days and then discontinue it as it is a steriod and not advisable for long usage. I have completed my course. I was also administered Alegra 180mg one every day for 5 days. The rashes on my face has settled but I still have rashes on my arms.
I always wonder, what is the best skin care routine and good products to use for a combination oily skin so that i don't end up spending too much money and experiment various brands. Please suggest.
"Steroid Abuse" and "Steroid dependence".

Hi,
Welcome again to the forum and thanks for sending important details regarding your issue. After analyzing the complete query with diligence I can make out that your condition is known as "Steroid Abuse" and "Steroid dependence".
As you have applied Mometasone (in Elocon) steroid preparation for long time which has caused the various side effects. The log term usage of steroid "Steroid Abuse" or "Steroid dependence" is quite common phenomenon where after long term, injudicious and unregistered use of steroid creams without dermatological supervision leads to the multiple side effects.
The Elocon cream which you have used is basically medium potency steroid based cream and on its prolonged use it can cause thinning skin with red irritated skin or even hair growth along with darkness of face.
On its prolonged use and then stoppage make our skin habitual and thus you are having the side effects as mentioned by you. As I can make out that you have used the cream for long period of 12 months which caused the problems of redness, flaking and dryness with dull skin.
Any cream containing topical steroid preparations are potentially known to cause side effects on long term or injudicious use in form of thinning of skin, hair growth on affected area and prominence of vessels with rashes.
I very often see person of using these kinds of creams and later experiencing side effects of the same. Once it is started on face it initially gives fair complexion. This is because of mild stoppage of the activity of color producing cells. In our practice we use this cream but within a short span of 1-2 weeks we shift with certain other safer creams which are not containing steroids in it.
For the betterment you need to meet a dermatologist who can take off the steroidal side effects slowly with different medications. A dermatologist will take off the steroidal side effects slowly with different safer medications. You need to have patience of multiple months to get rid off from the situation. Stop application of any type of steroids on face.
To take off the side effect and making the skin lighter again I general prescribe steroid sparing agents to reduce the steroidal side effects. I general prescribe Kojic acid cream or Tacrolimus cream at night time only over the affected area. Apply it in such a thin layer that it should not be visible by naked eye. Do not try to rub it. It is generally diluted with some bland cream to reduce the irritation. So these creams are to be used under dermatological guidance only.
Additionally using a sunscreen daily helps in reducing he sun damage. It will take bit long time to get better so take a proper guidance form dermatologist in person and follow the suggestions.
Hope these informations will help you. If you have any further query I will be happy to help.
