Suggest Treatment For Dry Cough And Blocked Nose In A Child

Question: My baby boy is 6 months of age. He is having dry cough and Nose is blocked. I have consulted doctor and gave these medicines
1. Dm syrup 60 ml
2. Otrivin 10 ml
3. Azithral liquid 100 ml

Can understand your concerns.

Dry cough with blocked nose can occur in upper respiratory tract infection.

I think that dm syrup and azithral is ok. But nasal drops like nasoclear 1 drop in each nostril three times a day should be given instead of otrivin.

Otrivin contains xylometazoline and is usually not given in small babies.
