Suggest Treatment For Dry Cough

My wife is having dry khasi (without any cough) and it became is continuous for more than an hour. After that she became all right. It is mostly starting after Dinner/lunch. I had consulted about it with many doctors and most of them giving only cough syrup. During last case (before two days), nebulization had given her an immediate relief but today after dinner it again started. Again nebilization was given and she got immediate relief. Is there is any permanent cure for this dry Khasi.
Consult pulmonologist and get done PFT.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your wife's situation and problem.
In my opinion your wife is having either asthma or allergic bronchitis.
Dry coughing is hallmark feature of these conditions.
She improves with nebulization, these supports asthma more.
Nebulization drugs are bronchodilators. So she must be having bronchospasm induced dry cough, which is relieved by nebulization of bronchodilators.
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done
1. Clinical examination of respiratory system.
2. PFT ( pulmonary function test ).
PFT is needed to diagnose asthma and allergic bronchitis.
It will also tell you about severity of the disease.
And treatment is based on severity only.
For permanent solution, she needs inhaled bronchodilators and antihistamine with anti allergic drug.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wishing good health to your wife.
Thanks.
