hi
i understand you do need to see it but i tried uploading a picture before and it isnt going through. its about a cm in diameter and slowly raising where middle of it is highest and its clear liquid and sometimes blood comes out of it. he has had eczema before and gets dry itchy skin. a friend of ours told us to use a wart solution and after that this boil kinda thing came up. its been there for a few days. hasnt happened before. no fever.
if you are unable to provide advice without a picture i understand and might just take him in to see doctor just in case.
thanks

Brief Answer:
Suggestions on infected eczema

Detailed Answer:
Hi.... I am glad that the child has a positive history of Eczema as I had expected and now it has made my job easy to give suggestion for you.

I feel that it is an infected eczema. Please do not use any wart solution on the dry itchy skin of eczema. This will aggravate the situation. I feel that he has acquired a secondary bacterial infection on top of pre-existing eczema.

I suggest that you use topical antibiotic preparation like Mupirocin ointment antibiotic for external application on the area for 5 days, thrice a day. Wash the area thrice a day with water and soap, mop dry it and then apply this antibiotic.

If you are having difficulties uploading images, please send them by mail to YYYY@YYYY with subject line saying "Attn: Images for Dr Sumanth Amperayani" , they will reach me.

As there is no fever I do not see any indication to use an oral antibiotic regarding this.

Regards - Dr. Sumanth
