Suggest Treatment For Dry Mouth And Blood In Urine
Question: Age 76 dry mouth and blood in urine started yesterday after walking

Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have blood in urine since yesterday
.

1)Are you taking any blood thinning medication especially Aspirin ?
2) Do you have obstructive voiding symptoms like frequency for urination ,urgency for urination ,nocturnal frequency etc ?
The blood in urine at this age is mostly due to one of the following factors
1) Enlarged prostate which is very common at this age
2) Mass in the bladder or kidney.
Please consult qualified Urologist for clinical and digital rectal examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Urine routine and culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis
3) Serum PSA.
4) Blood coagulation profile
5) Endoscopic examination of bladder (Cystoscopy)
In the mean while start taking antibiotics like Ciprofloxacin twice daily and Tomsulosin once daily.
Ensure to drink more water .
Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis.
