I lost around 10 pounds, but not intentionally.
It happens mostly in the morning and gets better after breakfast, but the symptoms come at night as well.
My skin is drier than normal.
No change in urinary habits.
Can't remember the last time I had a routine physical, but when I went a few days ago all the tests came out fine. Doctor said I was having panic attacks. Right now I don't feel like I'm panicking, but just dry mouth, dizziness, thirsty, and feeling weak.
I don't have any medical conditions.
The doctor prescribed for me Lorazepam, but I only took it once because once the effects of the medicine wore off I felt even worse than before I took it.
No history of substance abuse, but all these symptoms seemed to happen after I took 4 caffeine pills.
I also wanted to say I had some hallucinations like I thought an 18 wheeler passed by me on the highway, but when I checked there was no car there.
Rule out hyperthyroidism, diabetes, depression
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Such rapid weight loss, dry skin, and other associated symptoms are most concerning for Hyperthyroidism (increased thyroid hormone level) and diabetes(high blood sugar levels).
Please see whether thyroid function test, blood sugar levels, and HbA1c were tested few days ago.
If those are within normal limits, then depression is a major concern, especially with the significant weight loss. You can follow up with your primary provider to assess for the presence of depression. Both panic attacks and depression are treated with the same class of medication called SSRIs. Lorazepam is not ideal for long-term use. You may discontinue lorazepam if you are not tolerating it well.
If you just took 4 caffeine pills, then it is not the likely cause for your symptom. However, if you are regularly consuming caffeine pills, it can cause such symptoms and should be discontinued.
The single episode of seeing something which is not true is not indicative of hallucination or delusion. It can happen normally at times.
