Suggest Treatment For Dry Skin
Question: what is the best solution or lotion for very very dry skin?
Brief Answer:
Thick creams and cold creams are better
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for your query.
For very very dry creams, thick creams like penaten cream in western countries, cold creams and vaseline in XXXXXXX can be useful. Saslic-ds facewash is also meant for dry skin.
Also I recommend taking more fruits, hygienic food and drinking clean water from RO system. It helps with dry skin.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

By birth itself mine is a cracking dry skin and vaselines are not at all useful
Brief Answer:
Seems like ichthyosis
Detailed Answer:
Hi again
From your description it seems like some type of ichthyosis. It is a very common problem nowadays. Hydration is the mainstay of treatment in which vaseline containing preparations are applied after taking bath. Urea containing creams can also be used in place of vaseline after taking bath.
Then there are keratolytic agents like creams containig prolpylene glycol, glycerine, lactic acid e.g., in Dew derm cream and soap. These are also used. Glycerine is present in many cold creams.
Rarely systemic retinoids like isotretinoin and acitretin may be prescribed by the dermatologist.
I feel that all these medications only provide temporary relief.
Hope it helps.
