Brief Answer:
Xerosis, Use a good moisturizer frequently
Detailed Answer:
Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at XXXXXXX
I would keep a possibility of Xerosis of Skin.
This happens due to reduced water retentive capacity of the skin, therefore as a result the skin hydration is depleted and it appears dry and wrinkled.
Using harsh soaps and repeated washing makes the condition worse.
In such a case, i would have asked you to use only a gentle cleansing soap Or you can totally avoid soaps.
It is advisable to apply a good moisturizer as frequently as possible on the affected areas. Moisturizers specially those which contain hygroscopic agents (those which attract water from the atmosphere and lock it into the skin) like Ammonium lactate, Urea, Lactic acid and Glycerin and Hyaluronic acid are specially useful in such cases. They keep the skin hydrated and soft and supple.
One particular brand of moisturizer which I prefer for application on arms, legs, hands and feet, is the one containing ammonium lactate 12% marketed by Ranbaxy in India.
