Suggest Treatment For Dull Pain In The Testicles While Treating Severe Anxiety

Posted on Sat, 25 Jun 2016
Question: I have high anxiety and health anxiety. I been having this dull achy feeling in my left testicle, left pelvic area and sometimes in my lower left back. I went to a doctor and he did a physical exam and said he is certain it is Epididymitis. I know I don't have any stds so it was weird to me. I went back for an ultra sound and the tech in the other room did one for my whole upper chest and lower and testicles. She went into the doctors office and came out with a prescription for epididymitis it started with a D I believe it was 2 pills a day for 10 days. I finished it now and the pain has got better but for the past two days it came back but not was bad as before. Maybe I need more pills? I have an appointment tomorrow because after the tech came back with my prescription she said come back in two weeks for a follow up. My questions is does it sound like I need more pills and if something was wrong with my ultrasound being that the tech did go into the doctors office I'm sure she told him if she did find anything or if everything was good should I be worried. I guess if something was bad they would of told me right that in their or over the past two weeks would have called. What do you think and would you be worried?

Brief Answer:
It is your anxiety that is making you more suspicious

Detailed Answer:

Hello
Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have dull pain in Left testicle ,left side of pelvic area and lower back .
and have been diagnosed to pain to be due to Epididymitis.

The pain has relieved to considerable extent over a period of 2 weeks after taking medication (Mostly Diclofenac) which is commonly prescribed as a anti inflammatory drug. However you are suspicious about having some serious problem based on the irrelevant facts that you have observed in Dr clinic while doing ultrasound scanning .

At the outset let me state that if there would have been any serious issue the concerned Physician would have explained you the nature and further tests to be done .It is your anxiety that is root cause of your varied symptoms and this is reason for not having any positive evidence to suggest any serious problem on doing so many investigations .

I would suggest you to consult qualified Psychiatrist for counselling .A well practiced meditation for one hour every day will help you to allay your anxiety and get relief from all varied symptoms that you have .This may take long tome of 5-6 months to observe the improvement .

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions , I shall be happy to help you .
Thanks and Regards.

Thank you and I do agree with you. My ultrasound results did come back and I was told I have a .40cm or .90cm or something like that (I can't remember) cryst on my left testicle. I was told to see a urologist. I have to schedule an appointment. My question is the ultrasound showed this cryst, is this cancerous? Or is a cryst on the testicle non cancerous. Besides that is this a serious problem or not so much?

Hello
Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have done Ultrasound Scanning of scrotum and revealed that there is cyst of a size of 40 mm 90 mm.

The Epididymal Cyst are mostly Benign Cyst and does not require ant treatment .Treatment is offered in a special situation when it gets infected or increases in size giving rise to pain .

Do not worry it is non cancerous cyst.Cancerous cyst can be detected on Ultrasound Scanning .

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions , I shall be happy to help you .

Thank you. The cryst is painful, like I said it does not hurt as often as before but I still have pain mainly in my left testicle. So, will this pain go away on its own or can I take anything to help? Is the cryst going to decrease in size on it's own? Pretty much how do I get rid of this?

If the pain I'm having in my left testicle is not from the cyst where they said I have it at, then what is this pain? I would think since the cyst is in my left testicle and I have pain in my left testicle it would be from that. They did an ultrasound of my whole upper body and pelvic and testicles. So, you said if it was cancerous the ultrasound would of picked up on it. So, explain to me where and what you think this pain is...............

Brief Answer:
The cause of pain may be inflammation of Spermatic cord .

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for follow up .
The pain due to cyst will be always detected on clinical examination of a Cyst on palpation .Your Urologist would be best a judge to say it on palpation (Examination) .

The pain that you have in testicle may be anxiety related .

Thanks and Regards.
