Detailed Answer:
Hello,

It sounds as though you have a bad cold. I do not agree with the other doctors who have responded to your question so far.

If you do not have high blood pressure, I recommend an oral decongestant. Pseudo ephedrine is a good one for this. It can help your sinus headache and ear aches, and if there is less mucus dripping down into your bronchi, it can help your chest congestion.

Pseudoephedrine is non-prescription but you do have to request it at a pharmacy as it is not sold on the shelf.

Another thing that can help is a nasal corticosteroid, also sold over the counter. An example of this is Flonase. It can take a few days of daily use for it to start to work. What it does is stabilize the mucus membranes of the sinuses so they secrete less, and most of all, are less swollen. This can help the headache especially, but will also help the other symptoms in time.

Ear aches can be due to either fluid that comes up the eustachian tube from the throat drainage, creating pressure and pain on the ear drum, or it can be a bacterial infection in the ears (otitis media).

If the ear pain is also accompanied by fever, or if they consistently hurt a great deal, then go in to your doctor or an urgent care clinic to have them looked at and it's possible you may need an antibiotic. I also recommend going in to be examined if you are coughing up yellow sputum throughout the day (not just when you first get up) and have a fever.

If the sinus symptoms persist longer than 3 weeks, then it is also time to go in to be seen and to consider an antibiotic.

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can provide further information.
