Suggest Treatment For Ear Pain And Chronic Fatigue

default
Posted on Sun, 4 Dec 2016
Question: My ears have been blocking up quite badly this year, and I went to have them syringed for the third time this year. I had been having ear pain and difficulty hearing.the earwax was also exasperating my noise sensitivity due to chronic fatigue syndrome.

Unfortunately, I was only able to have 3/4 of one cleared, as it made me very dizzy and I had to lie down twice. I've an appointment booked next week for the rest of the treatment.

However, today I have been experiencing vertigo, and my balance isn't very good. I've never experienced this before, my ears were pretty bad this time. It is worth mentioning That I am on dizziness pills for cfs, but this feels completely different. Will it pass? Thanks

Brief Answer:
vertigo usually passes

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question.
It would be a good idea for you to get some ear wax softener and use it every day until your next appointment. When wax is dried out it is harder to remove and thus can cause more symptoms.
It may also help you to use this once a week on a regular basis to avoid ear wax blockage in the future.
There are many brands and the pharmacist can help you find one. You put in 4-5 drops then put cotton in your ears at bedtime.
As far as the vertigo, it can come from an inner ear problem, not the outer canal where wax builds up. Some medications can cause it as well. Also sometimes the small crystals in the inner ear get disturbed and in that case there are some maneuvers that your doctor can do to sort that out.
It is good you have an appointment next week. Ask the doctor at that time about the vertigo and possible treatments.
I wish you the best,

Brief Answer:
unusual reaction

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for the follow up.
It is unusual to develop vertigo after an ear lavage. There are some nerves that can become irritated if hard wax is removed and that may be the cause. I hope it passes quickly
Just remember the softer you can keep the wax the easier the flushing out (lavage) will go.
