Suggest Treatment For Eczematous Dermatitis

Question: hi does anyone know what this is ? I really don't think it's an allergic reaction to anything
Brief Answer:
Possibility of fungal infection Or discoid dermatitis
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic
I have gone through your query and I have also seen the photograph.
I can see a single, disc shaped, red, raised lesion; the surface looks weepy and I can also see crusting at places.
I will like to keep a possibility of either Eczematous dermatitis Or Fungal infection.
-Have you tried any cream?
-Is it itchy?
Regards

I haven't tried cream but it is a little bit itchy. What cream should i use ?
Brief Answer:
Topical steroids with antibiotics
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
This seems most likely an eczematous dermatitis/Discoid dermatitis; it is angry looking, has weeping, oozing and honey colored crusting. Oozing and crusting suggests secondary bacterial infection
Fungal infection is a less likely possibility because they are usually dry and scaly.
If I was the treating doctor I would have suggested a course of an oral antibiotic (e.g flucloxacillin or cephalexin) for a week
Topically I would have advised a combination cream containing topical steroid and a topical antibiotic (e.g clobetasol propioante+Neomycin Or Clobetasol propionate+ gentamycin) twice daily for 2 weeks.
Topical steroids and oral antibiotics are prescription products and therefore I would suggest that you talk to your doctor for the needful.
An OTC oral antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10 mg once daily would provide you symptomatic relief from itching.
Regards
