i having thyroid where tsh is 18.5 and irregular periods i want to reduce my weight taking thronorm tablet 125 mg
Brief Answer:
TSH is too high
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
The therapeutic range for TSH is between 1.5 to 3.5. If you are taking 125 mcg of Thyronorm and still this TSH range is not achieved you should be concerned. As long as you do not acheive the TSH range you will not have good health. You will have irregular periods and would not be able to reduce weight even with constant efforts.
You should meet your Endocrinologist immediately to rectify the misdoings. There might be other dis hormonal reasons which can be tested for. Also you should keep checking the TSH, Free T4 and Free T3 levels every quarter.
So you should first get the TSH within range and then think of reducing weight.
