Brief Answer:
Liver is fine.

Detailed Answer:
HI

Greetings from Dr.Divakara.P
Thanks for posting your query.

1. Your total cholesterol , Triglycerides and LDL is very much elevated . I recommend a short course of medicine ( for 3-4 months ) called Rosuvastatin+Fenofibrate in such cases along with diet and exercise. You can discuss about it with your treating doctor.

Exercise like Brisk walking or Jogging or Cycling or swimming for 20-30 minutes daily.

Diet : Avoid sweets, Carbonated drinks, non veg food , cheese, butter and ghee. Eat more of vegetables and fruits.

2. As of your liver is concerned your LFT ( Liver function test ) is totally normal , so there is nothing to be concerned .

3. One more abnormality noticed is Elevated Eosinophil count. Common cause for this is allergy or parasite infestation. So I need to know do you have any allergy?

4. Apart from these abnormalities everything else is normal .

Hope this information is useful to you.
Any clarification feel free to ask.

Hello Sir,

Thanks a lot sir for your response.

I have 2 questions.

Q1:
Elevated Eosinophil Count:

Sir, I'm getting dead moles at my neck (currently there would 8-9 moles) from last 4-5 years. Some times they grow with pace and sometime growth slows down. Is it related to Eosinophil count? PFA pic.

Q2:
Do you recommend me getting all these test redone?

Should I immediately visit a doctor in panic or I can live safely with prescribed medicines and get test redone after a month !!!

If YES then please let me know how much tablets (Rosuvastatin+Fenofibrate) in a day and is it before food or after food?

Brief Answer:
Eosinophils and skin moles not related

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

I have gone through the photo attached.

There is no relation between Elevated Eosinophil count and the skin moles (actually its a Skin Tag).

The skin tags what you are having is an extra growth of skin. These are harmless and usually occurs in persons with family history of same skin tags. No medicines can shrink them but you can get it removed with a Laser.

No need to get the tests redone.

There is no need to panic, but start the Rosuvastatin+Fenofibrate tablet once a day after food. (Kindly don't consider this as prescription and I recommend you to take a valid prescription from your doctor).

Hope this information is useful to you.
Any clarification feel free to ask.

Hello Sir,

Thanks a lot for details advice. It relieves me.

You being from XXXXXXX must be aware of Sakra hospital. Its quite near by to my home so I visited today evening for a consultation with doctor for second opinion.

He has advised me everything same as that of you. Only difference is that he had suggested me not to take medicine and wait for next 2 months.

For initial 2 months, he has advised me to strictly follow diet plan & daily exercise and get one more test redone.

But some of my friends who had cholesterol level below 200 were advised medicines be respective doctor. So, I'm confused.

Brief Answer:
Both options are fine.

Detailed Answer:
HI XXXXXXX

The decision to start medication for high cholesterol depends on many factors :

Age : Younger the age less likely to start medications.

Cholesterol Level : Higher the levels more the inclination to start medication.

Alcohol/Smoking : If the person is smoker or alcoholic then more the inclination to start medication.

Diabetes / Hypertension / Heart Problem : If person has any of these then more the inclination to start medication.

Any family history of Heart attack or Stroke then more the inclination to start medication.

Overweight or Obese : Then more the inclination to start medication.

Not very committed for exercise or diet more the inclination to start medication.

So if there is none of these factors in you then you can wait for 2-3 months , keep doing the diet and exercise and repeat the cholesterol test after 3 months. So you doctor is not wrong in asking to not to take these medicines. Hope you understood that only age is not considered in starting medicine.

The reason why I advised to start medicine is your Triglyceride levels were very high and it takes very vigorous exercise and strict diet to bring it down . Also it shall take 6-12 months to bring it to normal levels. A mild reduction in levels inspite of exercise and diet can be de-motivating for the patient.

So both the options are fine as you are young .

Hope this information is useful to you.
