Suggest Treatment For Elevated Liver Enzymes And Constipation

Question: I had my gallbladder removed 27 years ago. The last 3 years I have pain on my right side when I sleep at night. I recently had a scan which revealed a dilated bile duct. I am now nauseated and I feel fluttering inside my liver. I have had so many test over the last 3 years which revealed nothing. I do have elevated liver enzymes. I also have severe constipation due to opioids from failed back surgery syndrome. What should I do at this point?
Brief Answer:
It must be reevaluated
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome. Your symptoms and signs indicate obstruction of common bile duct and this should be cleared out. It may be caused by stones in bile duct or some more serious conditions such as tumors of pancreas and duodenum. Also, hepatitis may be considered,so you should check viral markers. For biliary duct obstruction, you need to do ERCP or MRI biligraphy, this will reveal possible cause of obstruction if there is one and possible liver lesions. Wish you good health. Regards

I spent the afternoon in ER. They did another ultrasound and again they found a dilated bile duct. I am now nauseated constantly like I was years ago, before having my gall bladder removed. They suggested ERCP. They also said just because I had my gallbladder removed I could still have a buildup of sludge. Why do I have such pain when I lay on my right side?
Brief Answer:
hi
Detailed Answer:
Because then there is a pressure of stomach on your bile duct and liver.
Dilated bile duct can be caused by stones or sludge but also some other conditions. As I said, it would be best to do ERCP or MRI biligraphy. Till that, avoid fried and fatty food and alcohol. You can rake spasmolytics and Metoclopramide pills.
