Suggest Treatment For Endometriosis
Question: Brief history: My wife has been having chocalate cysts issues since college (2009) and twice she had to be operated for chocalate cysts (Laparoscopy). She was diagnosed with yet another chocalate cyst 6 months ago. 1.5 months ago, she took this injection luprodex 11.25 mg dose due to cyst (Volume 110 CC approx.) in her right ovary. The last time she took this she had hot flashes and some other side effects but this time no hot flashes happened and her period started just after 1.5 months after taking the injection which should not have happened as it takes at least 3 months for them to start again so we are doubting whether the injection is having any effect or not. Any suggestions or anything we can do or check to know whether the injection is working or not. Also to give a background, we got married only 6 months ago and we are not planning for a baby till next year end. What should be next steps for us..
Brief Answer:
Don't go for laparoscopy surgery.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I understand your concerns about endometriosis.
Endometriosis ( chocolate cysts) keep recurring even after laparoscopy.
Don't go for another laparoscopic surgery as it is not final solution. Your decision was right about not doing laparoscopic surgery.
She can undergo transvaginal cyst aspiration under ultrasound guidance which will provide temporary relief if she is not willing for injections.
Meanwhile don't delay pregnancy as it is very difficult to get pregnant with endometriosis. Plan pregnancy now and can start treatment if you fail to get pregnant in next 6 months.
Let me know if you need anymore help.
