Suggest Treatment For Enlarged Liver When AST And ALT Levels Are High
viral markers and autoimmune to rule out
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
As you have properly described your condition, when we rule out alcoholic or drug induced hepatitis, usually next step is to rule out any viral infection or presence of autoimmune hepatitis.
As you told that your GGT levels have gone high it can suggest presence of autoimmune reason as compared to viral infection as I assume you do not have fever as you have not mentioned it.
I would like to advuce you to ask your doctors to check for presence of any autoimmune hepatitis.
The tests we usually perform to diagnose this is ANA, anti SM antibody, anti LKM 1 antibody.
For now I would advice you to get these tests done and either consult your doctor or get back with me with the reports will definitely advice you for further course.
I hope I have answered your query well. If you have any more query kindly write back to me will be happy to answer them.
Thank you
