Suggest Treatment For Enlarged Prostate

Question: For the past couple of whenever I beed to pee it's an urgent matter, sometimes I'd have a slight leak before unzipping which I attributed to my diabetes. Yesterday, I went to pee and felt an uncomfortable burning sensation with a bit of pain. This morning I again peed and felt the same sensation only this time I noticed blood in my urine. I just went to the restroom and again notice blood in my urine. Please let me know possible causes and remedy.

Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have urgency for urination and hematuria since very recently .

I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1) Do you have other obstructive voiding symptoms like frequency for urination ,poor stream etc .

The urgency and hematuria that you have could be mostly due to Enlarged Prostate which is common at this age and needs to be investigated .

Consult qualified Urologist for clinical and digital rectal examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Urine routine and culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis
3) Serum PSA.
4) Uroflowmetry.

In the mean while start taking
1) Combination of Tomsulosin and Dutasteride once daily
2) Darifenacin once daily
3) Antibiotic like Cefexime twice daily

Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis.

Thank you for your answers and question Dr XXXXXXX I indeed had some frequency/urgency starting back in January but has subsided the the latter part to now. During that time or prior I've never experienced poor streaming neither was awoken at nights to pee.

Fyi....just went to the restroom and peed, fortunately no blood noticed this time except the last drip which looks very pail/pinkish. Awaiting your reply.

Though bleeding has stopped now single episode of blood in urine warrants investigations to rule out Enlarged Prostate which is the commonest cause at this age..
