+Liver abnormalities
+Anemia
+Obstruction of blood flow to the spleen
+Metabolic disorders
+Trauma

If at all you have experienced any of the above causes and can relate to any one, then the cause for your spleenomegaly (enlargement of the spleen) is quite obvious and the enlargement will gradually subside. If not, then you should speak to your doctor about the same. A comprehensive blood panel will also help to look into a possible cause.

In my opinion, if your doctor does not feel it important enough to inform you about the inflammation it should be something he is expecting. Like for example, I had a patient with dengue fever a while ago, who returned to me during a follow-up and during the ultrasound became extremely anxious when he found out his liver was slightly enlarged. This is only because of the dengue fever, and is something that will slowly settle and become normal.

I would also like to point out that the enlargement of your spleen should not and will not cause any abdominal pain. So there could possibly be another cause for your pain.
