Suggest Treatment For Epididymitis And Enlarged Prostate
Question: hi, i am 42 yo and was diagnosed with epididymitis about 1.5 months ago. I have an enlarged prostate and after having some tests including a sono it was determined that it was not caused by STD. I was put on antibiotic (doxycycline) for 14 days and the pain has subsided considerably within 3-5 days. However, i am still feeling some discomfort and still have an enlarged (left) testicle which feels tender when touched. How long will it be until epididymitis is gone completely? Also, same urologist told me that i have small inguinial hernia on the left side (same side as epididymitis)

Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have Epididymitis on left side with Lt inguinal Hernia.

1) Have you done urine culture and sensitivity test?
2) Have you taken anti inflammatory medicines along with Doxicycline ?
The swelling of the Lt Testicle that you have is a due to part of the same infective process and is called as Epididumoorchitis.Most of the time this is secondary to UTI .
Doing urine culture helps to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which these organisms are sensitive to so that one can take appropriate antibiotic to control the infection and to get quick relief.
Please get your urine culture done and start taking appropriate antibioticas per culture report along with anti inflammatory medicine like Serropeptidas twice daily.
Ensure to drink more water.
As regards Lt inguinal Hernia .Please note that there are no medicines that can cure Hernia Surgery is the only treatment option .
Get it operated as per your convenience.
