Suggest Treatment For Epididymitis And Severe Pain
Question: My son is 27. He has had epididymitis since May. He is in severe pain and he just can't seem to get a dr to help him. He has had a cat scan and sonogram. A couple of anitibiotics. What can we do. He can't function with this pain

I hope Color Doppler scan was done to rule out Torsion Of Testis (The Testis twists and the blood supply is affected ).
Epididymitis stretching out so long following possibilities need to be considered
1. Chronic Torsion
2. Anatomical Abnormality of the Urinary tract : Presence of Ectopic Ureter needs to be considered and ruled out
3. Chronic inflammation of Testis like Tuberculosis
I would suggest you the following
1. Ensure good scrotal support : Wearing right size underwear will support the Testis and reduce pain
2. Color Doppler scan
3. Urine Routine and microscopic examination examination
I would suggest you to discuss this with your Son's physician and things can be planned
