Suggest Treatment For Episodes Of Vertigo Was Caused From Right Sided Vestibular Disorder
Question: I have been having episodes of dizziness. Went to ENT and he did head movement tests and thenhe said vertigo was caused from right sided vestibular disorder. I’m still not clear on if this means it’s permanent or if it will get better or if there is any treatment. It was not clear to me from my appointment, he just said call if it worsens. Are their different types of right sided disorder? I googled it and it doesn’t really explain or appear to be a diagnosis.
Brief Answer:
Different causes.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Vestibular disorder is a broad name given for abnormal function of vestibular apparatus, a structure found in the inner ear. The abnormality is caused by infection, inflammation, structural defects, injury and sometimes due to unknown factors. Some of the conditions are treatable, while some are not.
Since your doctor wasn't very concerned, I am assuming the doctor felt the cause is likely to improve. If it doesn't, get back to the doctor, he or she can run more tests on you to find the specific cause and treat you accordingly.
Hope it answered your question. If you aren't satisfied with my response, let me know I shall re route the query to ENT doctors here.
Regards
