ED is common as we all get older
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for contacting HCM with your health care concerns.
You recently had a PSA which was 3.69 which is the high end of normal. I agree that at this time no additional investigation is needed. I do recommend that you have a repeat PSA in 1 year.
Your true main concern is erectile dysfunction and getting up early in the morning to urinate. The ED is something most men start to exhibit as they get older. I might recommend that you have a Testosterone levels to be sure you do not have low testosterone levels which maybe at the heart of the ED. If it is normal then perhaps you may talk with your doctor about getting Viagra or Cialis
The second issue you have is having to get up early to urinate. This is called nocturia. The reason fro the nocturia is incomplete emptying of your bladder late at night. This incomplete emptying is usually due to an enlarged prostate that prevents the complete emptying. One easy way to reduce the nocturia is to stop drinking any liquids after 6pm. This reduced fluids in the evening will help reduce the chance of getting up at night. The next option is to use medications like Flomax or proscar that help either with emptying the bladder or in reducing the size of the prostate. These medications you can get from your doctor. The last option is to use daily Cialis which will help with the ED problem and help with the nocturia problem. These options should be discussed with your physician
In summary
1. High normal PSA needs repeat in 1 year
2. erectile dysfunction treat with Viagra or Cialis
3. nocturia reduce fluids at night
4. Proscar to reduce size of prostate
5. Flomax to improve emptying of bladder
