Hello XXXXXXX
At your age, it would be rare to have a problem with testosterone levels or testicular atrophy. Taking any supplemental hormones, without an actual diagnosis of having an endocrine disorder, would likely cause unwanted side effects such as acne and balding.
As a last resort, you can use erectile dysfunction medications such as Viagra, but these are designed for older men.
In someone your age there are psychological/neurological causes for erectile dysfunction:
1. Anxiety, particularly performance anxiety.
2. History of masturbation to pornography. Really - this is a problem for many men your age who have grown up with easy access to pornography and there is research that shows that it affects normal healthy men. The brain becomes used to gratification/expectation of visual images that are usually idealized, and of having total control rather than interacting with another human. Further, because the man has control of orchestrating the physical sensations (pressure, speed, etc), and it is generally the same, this isn't replicated with a live person. The body becomes somewhat "wired" to only respond to this particular type of controlled response.
What you can do:
1. Refrain from masturbation for a few days before seeing your girlfriend.
2. When masturbating, do not use pornography.
3. Spend more time in foreplay with your partner. For a couple of weeks, do not engage in intercourse, but instead do mutual masturbation.
4. A tight fitting condom (not so tight that it hurts!) put on while you still have an erection can help maintain the erection.
5. If all else fails, talk with your doctor about medications for erectile dysfunction.
If you think you have low testosterone (which is rare in men your age), because of fatigue, muscle weakness, scarcity of arm pit and pubic hair, then ask your doctor to test your levels. But short of having an actual diagnosis, taking testosterone increasing products will cause harm, and I have seen them cause men to actually have lower levels of testosterone for several months as a result, via a feedback loop.
I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can provide further information.
