Suggest Treatment For Erectile Dysfunction
Question: My husband recently began having difficulty keeping an erection. He is 45 years old and becoming very frustrated. He says the sensations are all there. Also noticed semen to have an odor, fishy. Any explanations?

First of all I feel the difficulty in maintaining erection and fishy door from semen are different issues and there is need for evaluation.
Regarding the fishy odour there is good possibility that he is having infection in one or other genital organs which include prostate, seminal vesicle urethra among others. The possibility of sexually transmitted infections need to keep in mind as they mostly affect the genital organs.
Regarding the difficulty in erection I like to inform you that there are systemic causes which are often responsible. The common cause at his age include diabetes, hypertension, cardiac ailments, atherosclerosis, smoking, substance abuse and stress among the prominent ones. In my opinion before any treatment effort all possible causes should be evaluated as most men have more than one cause responsible for poor erection.
