Brief Answer:
This could be due to Eustachian tube dysfunction.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
I had gone through your question. I can understand your concern. Nothing to worry, you will be fine.
The Eustachian tube connects the ear with back of the nose. This tiny tube ventilates and drains the ear. Secondary to flu the function of this tube could have affected leading to fluid collection in the ear.
I recommend the following.
1) Decongestant tablet levocetrizine with phenylephrine. It will improve Eustachian tube function.
2) If you have nasal block use oxymetazoline nasal drops to promote ventilation of the ear through Eustachian tube.
3) An exercise: Pinch and close your nose with thumb and index, close your mouth. Keeping the nose and mouth closed, blow air into mouth till you hear a pop up sound in the ear. Then release the nose and open the mouth. Repeat this for 5 to 6 times a day for about 7 days.
This will open up the Eustachian tube and promotes fluid drainage from the ear.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any other questions, I am happy to help.

Wish you a speedy recovery and good health.
