Suggest Treatment For Excessive Anger And Depression
Here are the problems of my life -
1. My husband and I work from home, he is in habbit of continuously finding mistakes in me. Moti ho, ye kya cloths pehene hain.. ghar dirty kyon hai.. y dont you work.. and this happens daily in very acceptable manner ( as I am tired of responding). 2 days in a week, he says too much continuously for 10 minutes and I loose my temper. That is when I feel super powerful, I bang things on floor. And feel like leaving him. (coming from a somewhat consevative family it is not possible, and also I dont think I will be able to give my daughter the life she deserves - you may call me coward. )
2) self confidence has become too low. Earlier i used to call myself Megha the great with pride.
3) I have once tried to commit suicide, and also have left home (and came back after he pleeded.)
His continuous speaking makes me mad.. and speaking on illogical things like why are cloths still on guest rooms bed ( coz he told me to watch movie with him last night; and I work and earn - I have office work)..
You may say that I feel he is troubling me for no reason, despite he himself keeps too many things pending.
Long story short - I am sure I am going mad and may harm self if this continues. M I going insane? or in depression? Is there any medicine you can help me with.
The symptoms are probably occurring due to depression.
Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries
I can understand your concern. It is common to have some disputes over minor things in couples but thse should be ignored completely. You have mentioned that your husband repeatdly accuse you on minor issues and this has resulted in chronic unconscious stress to your brain. Some times due to such problems individuals develop symptoms of depression. The symptoms you have mentioned like losing temper, anger outbursts, banging things on floor etc are most likely occurring due to this unconscious stress complicating to atypical depression symptoms. You have lost confidence and this is also due to depression. Thoughts of killing yourself or suicidal ideation shouldn't be ignored.
First of all I'd like to tell you that please try to relax yourself. Don't feel bad about yourself and if his accusations are bothering you to breaking point then best thing in such situations is to talk to him directly. Make him clear that his talks are causing significant stress to you and you would not tolerate this. Try to talk with him in polite manner. Don't feel that this is difficult, just make up the mind and talk to him. This should help in resolution but if things persist then consult a counsellor. Try to find out the loose points that are causing the problem. Try to avoid getting angry on those loose points.
As I have mentioned that these symptoms are probably due to depression caused by adjustment disorder so for persistent symptoms I'd advise you to consult a psychiatrist. Medicines like Sertraline, Escitalopram etc can help to reduce these symptoms and you will feel better. These medicines will help to regain the lost confidence.
Remember one thing that your are not going to become insane. This is depression no you will come out of this bad phase with proper treatment.
Thanks, hope this helps you. Please don't hesitate to ask again for more doubts.
Take care
