Suggest Treatment For Excessive Headaches And Vomiting
His gp is referring him to a neurologist but it hasn't happened yet. I'm so worried about him.
Brain imaging may be necessary
Detailed Answer:
I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.
Pounding headache and vomiting are typical for migraine headache. However a migraine headache attack usually doesn't last over 72 hours apart from chronic cases who a prior history of chronic migraine. Perhaps some more info on his past history, evolution in this past month (persistent or attacks with normal intervals in between), the onset of the headache (gradual increase over hours/days or maximum intensity in secons/minutes), tests he's had, blood pressure.
So if this is your husbands first episode and it hasn't relented for a month, other causes than migraine have to be excluded such as a brain tumor, for that an imagint test such as brain Ct scan is recommended. MRI is even better but I am suggesting CT as easier and quicker to obtain.
I remain at your disposal for further questions, possibly with the info above.
