Suggest Treatment For Excessive Sweating While On Oxycodone And Xanax

opioids such as oxycodone can cause sweating
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
The main interaction between these medications is increased drowsiness since they both cause sedation.
Though they both can potentially affect the nervous system in different ways. Opioids such as the oxycodone can cause excess sweating in some persons so it is possible that this one may be contributing to the sweating.
Sweating is due to action/stimulation of part of the nervous system called the sympathetic nervous system.
Stress or anxiety can activate this system causing sweating. Relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, muscle relaxation may help to reduce your stress response, this can be combined with the reduced dose of oxycodone.
There are medications that can be used for increased sweating such as oxybutin, which may be helpful if there is no improvement.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask helps

I'm taking pain meds because of two majors surgeries this year. Cervical operation C1 thru C7 then a repeat due to C1 screw and 2,3 and 4? Coming loose in August 2016 to complicate matters due to the realignment I have developed TMJ on the right side! The pain from the TMJ is most prevalent. Extreme pain in ear!
The combination of Xanax and pain meds do not make me sleepy. I would like to get off the opioids
Thank you for your help
Also, I can not find the drug, Oxybutin listed.
sorry wrong spelling
Detailed Answer:
HI
Sorry, sp- oxybutynin-missed the y when typing it out orginally.
It may also be known as ditropan or oxytrol.
There is no interaction between the oxybutynin and the other meds so they can be used together
If you are taken off the oxycodone, you would need to be given a replacement since you are having severe pain.
If you do not wish for additional opioids then NSAIDs may be an option eg arcoxia, celebrex or you can use a very low dose of opioids along one of these.
You may want to consider speaking to your doctor about your pain management options
Please feel free to ask anything else

no problem
