Brief Answer:
You need to have repeated exposure for this!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about what you experienced yesterday. These are somethings which get to happen to us once in a while and all we have left is to sit and manage the consequences and take active measures not to let them repeat in future.
Your concerns are petroleum products and cancer is valid. However, it is not a one time exposure that makes the risk of having cancer important but repetitive actions over a long time. Because this happened just once and am pretty sure you would not be allowing such to happen again, the risk of having cancer from this is very small and negligible. In future, take special care not to find yourself in similar situations where you would have to inhale gasoline again.
In all, the risk is small because it happened just once and for a short time. Try and prevent further inhalation in future. You would not develop cancer from this one time/1hour exposure.
I wish you well and hope this addresses your query fully. Feel free to ask for clarification and more information if need be. Thanks.
