Suggest Treatment For Extreme Anxiety Causing Tremors And Slurred Speech

Question: My 41 year old son has been going through more than anyone can imagine since January this year. I can explain later, however, he has had extreme anxiety before and we're wondering if that's what is causing these symptoms. He can call his psychiatrist on Monday, but if there's something he can do now, we certainly would appreciate hearing from you. His hands are shakey and his speech as well. Last night after a grueling workout, he was shaking, and his speech was like a stutter and I notice he also had a twitch on the right side of his mouth. We will wait to hear from you and I will turn this over to him to communicate with you.

Yes, the symptoms like tremors and slurring speech can be seen in anxiety. The only and best remedy for the same would be taking rest from work for some time. Such symptoms usually follow after a straneous work or a emotional stress. Mind relaxation exercises like Meditation and yoga can b helpful here.

If the above techniques fail then he may have to be placed on anti-anxiety medications like Zolpidem or alprazoalam etc.

I also took Lithium and Imipramine briefly... they didn't seem to help. So I stopped them as well. By the way, I take 40MG of Prozac and have been taking that for about 20 years.
